Thank you for such a beautiful cabin. It was so refreshing to spend our 10 year anniversary here. We had a great day on the mountain and ended the day with a relaxing soak in the hot tub with snow all around. We hope to bring our kids back with us someday!
Thank you, Micah & Becky

“Absolute perfection! The start of an amazing life together brought us up here for the most perfect day on Mount Rainier, followed by a stay that was even more perfect than we could have imagined. This trip was a trip to remember for sure & we will be back, over and over to make more memories in a place that felt a lot like “home away from home”!
Hearts & kisses & lot’s of love to all who visit this magical mountain!

A few comments from our guest book this winter…

December 23 – 25, 2012

We woke up to a white Christmas! Perfect! We all enjoyed the cabin; the kids loved the games, the loft and watching the snow fall. Mom & Dad loved the hot tub. Everyone enjoyed a night at the fire pit roasting marshmellows as the snow flurried all around us! Great cozy and family fun cabin! Thanks again, the Frisk family.

January 1-5, 2013

Happy New Year! What a perfect place to ring in the start of 2013 and celebrate our third anniversary. This was our second stay here- we first visited three years ago- and everything is even more perfect than we remembered! The mountain is especially beautiful this time of year, especially with the unexpected blue skies. Thanks for making such a beautiful, tranquil place; relaxing here, with the fire, good food, good books, Xbox (for Adam), scrabble and card games- that is exactly what we needed before Michelle heads back to grad school and Adam heads back to work. We hope to return again soon…Cheers!

January 6 – 8, 2013

We all had such a wonderful stay! Such a cozy & relaxing cabin with such thoughtfulness- loved all the extra touches…our second time here and will definitely be back again!

Snow Play Area at Paradise is Open for Sledding

Whether or not there is snow in the lowlands, you can find a snow covered Paradise at Mt. Rainier. Dubbed the Snowiest Place on the Planet, Paradise has already seen a lot of snowfall so far this year. The Snowplay Area at Paradise is the one established place in the park where sledding is permitted. After your sled runs, you and your family can stow your gear and head over to the visitor center cafeteria for a hearty lunch and warm beverages. The Jackson Visitor Center is open weekends and holidays during the winter season.
-Thanks to VisitRainier for this information!

What a beautiful time to visit Mount Rainier and stay at the cabin with loved ones, friends and family over the holidays! Trust us when we say the teenagers will welcome the warmth of the cabin loft and games after a fun-filled day in the snow (and what a great way to get them to sleep with beautiful dreams after a wonderful day)…parents can get their rest, too, beside the wood stove. Warm fires, hot drinks, soothing hot tub after adventures on Rainer hiking trails – how great is that? Pretty darn nice, we think. And, you will, too. Ever been snowshoeing on a trail around a frozen lake? Well, Reflection Lake is absolutely spectacular- even snow-covered! While hiking on the snow covered trails, with all the sights and wonders, your imagination will wander with all the shapes that nature makes in snow, trees & ice..the trees & rocks take magical shapes…Hobbits? Gnomes? Prehistoric Animals? Family faces? How about frozen streams? Frozen waterfalls? It just does not get anymore picture perfect than this. “Breathtaking”, for sure. And, pretty cool, you can come back in the summer, maybe in the twilight, and see the lakes refection among the wild flowers. Wow, now that is reality!!! Mount Rainier National Park is open all year and truly an all-season experience. Enjoy the beauty and head “up the hill” (that’s what the locals say when they have to go to “town” and can’t wait to get back up here, and that is the truth.)! p.s. We are only about 5 minutes from the park entrance and as you pass through Ashford, stop at Whittaker Mountaineering for rentals including snowshoes, gear, tubes & x-country skis. http://www.whittakermountainering.com (360.569.2142)

Photographer and Animal Lover Enjoy Mt. Rainier and NWTrek

November 30 – December 4, 2012

We had a wonderful time at Altimeter Cabin! Mt. Rainier was gorgeous as ever! The cabin is also less than 45 minutes from NWTrek for the animal lovers! The real wood-burning stove was an awesome feature for warming up after long photo hikes.Thank you for stocking the wood and also for accomodating our last minute extension of our stay. We are so glad we stayed longer! The cabin is so comfy and cozy and perfect for us the hot tub was heaven after the winter hiking. We cooked dinner here every night and found all the pots, pans, seasonings, etc, that we needed. Thank you for thinking of so many extras in the kitchen- and the bathroom, too! We would really love to come back and stay here again.
